9/26/2008. Hello. I attend Eureka High School and just wanted to inform you that today, September 26th, we swore to silence from the time the first bell rang till the very last bell of the day. A number of people participated, and many more applauded us for standing up for what we believed to be right. Each of us wore a red piece of tape with the word 'LIFE' on it, signifying we were choosing not to talk the whole day. We were only allowed to talk if someone asked us what we were doing, and our response was, "I am giving up my voice for a day for those who will never have one." It really had a powerful impact on some people, where to others our decision seemed silly. We had an insane amount of haters... People yelling from down the hall, "It's a choice for the mother to make, not for some stupid highschooler." But a lot of people wanted to learn more about abortion, and when we explained it to them, they made the hard choice of either being pro or con abortion, and I can safely say there are now a lot more people aware and supportive of what we stand for.

On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in all 50 states. Since that time, approximately 50 million children have been aborted. Each year, on or near this date, around the country, pro-life groups gather in memory of these aborted children, and to rally for an end to abortion. The largest gathering in the country is in Washington, D.C., the March for Life, which is attended by 2.5-4 million people. 7 years ago the Walk for Life West Coast was established.
ALWAYS: PRAY AND FAST FOR AN END TO ABORTION. Locally, people regularly pray at the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on Saturdays 7:30-8 a.m. and Tuesdays 9:30-10 a.m., at the corner of Wilson and Walford Sts. in Eureka (corner of street entrance to Planned Parenthood. This is by Timber Ridge and behind the Safeway at Harris and Harrison Sts). However, you may come at any time to pray. Please also pray, any time, wherever you are.
